Q: Where is the Dojo Located?
A: The Dojo is located in the city of Costa Mesa directly off the (55 fwy), Exit the Victoria Street offramp. Turn into The Higashi Honganji Temple (see judo banners out front) and proceed through the gate to the parking lot in the back. Enter Dojo through door with hanging judo banner.
Q: What days of the week are Judo/Jukkendo classes and what time do they start?
A: The Dojo is open Tuesday and Friday of each week. Junior/Kinder judo classes start at 4:45pm and end at 6:00pm. Jukkendo all levels start at 6:30pm and end at 8:00pm. Senior/advanced level Judo starts at 8:00pm and end at 9:00pm.
Q: What Is Jukkendo?
A: Jukkendo is a mixture of original style Kano Judo with Mitsuyo Maeda style MMA Judo/Jiu-jitsu/Striking. It can be applied to and mixed with many other MMA fighting styles such as: Kickboxing, Karate, Sambo, Muay Thai and many other striking arts.
Q: How do I read the "The Toughest Man Who Ever Lived" E-Book?
A: You must first create a Bunasawa-Kai members account with a username and password, then login and go to your account or profile page and purchase access to the E-book reader from the tabs in the members profile section. You can also purchase it from the Book tab at the top of the website. The E-book is on a (PDF) reader so it is compatible with all types of smartphones, laptops, desktops, tablet and electronic devices.
Q: How much are the Judo/Jukkendo classes? How much per session?
A: Judo/Jukkendo classes, all levels and ages are the same price of $105/monthly subscription. This includes mat fees, (8) Judo/Jukkendo sessions, seminars, clinics, special guest appearances and year end Celebrations. (Note) Must be current on your monthly membership status to attend.
Q: What equipment do I need to start training Judo/Jukkendo?
A: You will need a Gi, pants and belt to train/participate in weekly classes. Bunasawa-Kai can provide a loner Gi for new trial members for the first week (only). We offer a Special members discounted price for complete Judo/Jukkendo Gi set for purchase, which includes: Gi, Pants, Belt & Bunasawa-Kai members patch. Please contact Sensei Bunasawa if you want to purchase a Gi or if you need a "loner Gi" for a session.
Q: What is the forum and does it cost anything to join? How do I participate in the discussion?
A: The community forum is a way to interact with other Bunasawa-Kai members. You can create your own personalized profile, ask questions, share short videos/pictures and get the latest (BKI) News. It's absolutely free to join! All you need is to do is create a free Bunasawa-kai members account with login/password credentials and join other Judokas in the forum for discussion.
Q: How do I cancel or Access my Plans?
A: Click on the Login/Signup field in the upper right corner of the home page and log in to your account. Click the dropdown arrow and select "My Subscriptions". On the "My Access Plan" page select the plan you wish to unsubscribe from and click cancel. If you're having trouble canceling or need further assistance please reach out to us at Info@bunasawakai.com
